The ATV project has been a long time in the works, and I finally have some things to show. First is the hand rails. I did the molds up based off a vintage set, and to be honest, I'm not that happy with how they turned out. I need to rework the molds to minimize the air bubble issues OR us a pressure pot when casting the resin.

Next up is the ATV body. This is still very much a 'work-in-progress', but is making some head way. I decided to try and simply disassemble a vintage ATV, and mod it slightly, and use it as the basis for my vac form mold. Below is a test shot of the experiment:

Note the soft edge detail on the bottom shell, and the poor draft detail on the cargo section. I'm still trying to figure out a way to remedy this issue.

Ok, so what is left to do? Well, rework the vac-form mold into a working pattern. Mold up a set of wheels [I'm almost done with that as well] and then work out the center seat section. I hope to have some updates soon.

I also had to move my Joe Room to a new home, and in the process reorganize my collection. Here are some pics:

Custom Display Boxes

As a graphic designer for many years, I became interested in box designs for my box-less Joes. Below are some of the vintage "style" custom boxes I made using an Apple Macintosh G3 running Mac OS 9.2, Adobe Photoshop 5.5, QuarxKPress 4.0, and an Epson Stylus 1520 wide format color printer. most of this equipment is years old now, but still generates great Boxes when ever I need one. One thing that always bothered me about the vintage Display boxes was that you destroyed them taking the parts out. Well, I have solved this problem. All the parts can be easily removed. The box is a slide top type so it can be opened easily. Hasbro never designed their boxes like this!

My Vintage GIjOE Collection
